Answer
The management of the public water and wastewater infrastructure is an operational matter for NI Water. I have sought further information from NI Water to inform the response to your question.
The upgrades to Ballintoy wastewater treatment works (WwTW), Ballybogy WwTW, Ballyvoy WwTW and the completion of the Ballymena Drainage Area Plan (Phase 1), will be considered in NI Water’s Price Control 28 (2028/29 - 2032/33) business planning process.
NI Water is in the process of developing its business plan for Price Control 28 and once this has been finalised with the Utility Regulator, the proposed schemes will be confirmed. The delivery of all projects planned for Price Control 28 will be subject to funding availability and completion of any statutory approvals that may be required.
