Where the information comes from
Questions and answers come from the Northern Ireland Assembly Open Data (opens in a new tab) service. The site checks for new questions and answers every day. Answers given orally in the Assembly Chamber are taken from the Official Report (Hansard). The photo is from Sian Mulholland’s NI Assembly profile (opens in a new tab).
Contains Parliamentary information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0 (opens in a new tab).
At the last update (8 October 2026) there were 463 questions to 10 departments and bodies: 410 written questions and 53 oral questions.
What the terms mean
- Written question (AQW)
- A question tabled for a written answer from a minister or the Assembly Commission.
- Oral question (AQO)
- A question tabled for answer during Question Time in the Assembly Chamber. If it is not reached in the time available, it gets a written answer instead.
- Priority written question
- A written question the MLA has asked to be answered sooner than usual.
- Answer due by
- The date the Assembly sets for the answer. “Answered after due date” means the answer was published after this date. “Past due date” means there was no answer by this date.
- Not on the NI Assembly website yet
- New questions appear in the Assembly’s open data before they’re published on its website. Until a question appears there, we don’t link to it. The site checks again at every update.
- Days to answer
- Calendar days between the question being tabled and answered.
- Mentions North Antrim
- The question or answer names North Antrim, a town or village in the constituency, Causeway Coast and Glens or Mid and East Antrim councils, or the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. This is a simple text match, so it may miss some local questions.
Downloading the data
On the questions page you can download the questions matching your search and filters as CSV (for spreadsheets), JSON or XML. The full data set is also available as JSON.
Accessibility
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Text contrast is well above the AA minimum throughout. Links to other websites open in a new tab and are marked with an icon; screen readers announce this too. Every feature works with a keyboard and screen reader, the page respects reduced-motion settings, and text can be resized to 200% without loss of content.
Some answers contain tables supplied by government departments without header rows; we show them as published.
