Answer
Psychological and emotional support are recognised as core elements of the stroke pathway, reflected in the Northern Ireland Community Stroke Service model and the Stepped Model of Psychological Care for Stroke Services.
Psychological and emotional support is delivered by various professions including Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Clinical Psychology. Some stroke survivors may then be referred to services within the Voluntary and Community sector.
