Answer

Sport NI, as one of my Department’s Arms Length Bodies does undertake such engagement and has advised me as follows.

“Sport NI engaged Women’s Aid Federation Northern Ireland to deliver Domestic Abuse in Sport Awareness Sessions (including Safe Leave Act) to governing bodies of sport November 2025. 36 participants across 26 Governing bodies attended the two sessions and completed evaluations stating their appreciation for the course, providing knowledge and guidance and welcomed any future training in this area. Same session was offered to Sport NI staff and Line Managers including the Safe Leave Act requirements as a result of pending legislation in 2026”.
