Answer

Work is ongoing to develop a 10-year strategic plan, which is intended to deliver reform of adult social care. The plan will build on the work of my Department’s Social Care Collaborative Forum established in April 2023. It will set a clear vision for adult social care in the future and will focus on a number of strategic priorities, including promoting and enabling individual choice and control.

The plan will include a number of strategic actions aimed at enabling adults, including disabled adults, to live independently, in accordance with their wishes and in a home of their choosing.

Day opportunities offer creative work-based placements and within day opportunities a wider range of provision is being encouraged to meet the assessed needs and enhance the potential of younger people transitioning from children’s services. This also includes those currently in day care settings.
