Answer
My Department is urgently assessing the extent of the damage to the road network caused by Storm Bert, including the B15 Glenshesk Road.
I can confirm that at the site of the recent slippage, temporary traffic management, restricting vehicles to a single lane, is currently in place thus ensuring access is maintained. It is envisaged that remedial works will be undertaken, as soon as practicable, to ensure access to the residents of Greenan Road will remain in place.
In relation to the previous damage caused earlier this year, a detailed design solution is being developed for the embankment failure at Glenshesk Road. It is anticipated the design process for the remedial works will be completed in early 2025, with construction works programmed thereafter, subject to funding.
